Jordans 160+ Years Of Milling History

Wholesome Wholegrain Living

With a farming and milling legacy that stretches back to the mid 1800’s Jordans have been at the forefront of flour and cereal production. Originating from the Holme Mill on the banks of the River Ivel in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, it was in 1969 and after a travelling through California that brothers Bill and David Jordan discovered the natural goodness of wholegrain food – the ‘Wholefoods movement’ was a popular way of life at that time there.  When he returned to the family mill in the UK, Bill and his brother David decided to recreate those Californian wholegrain cereals and to champion the nutritious benefits of wholegrains.

By 1972, Jordans Cereals was born, with the first organic wholegrain breakfast cereal being called 'Crunchy G’. It became a big hit - despite the trend at the time for highly processed foods.

To this day, wholegrain oats are still at the heart of all Jordans products and what was “Crunchy G” is now Britain’s Favourite Granola.
